Glamour Kills Tour

I went to Greensboro, NC (3 1/2 hours away from home) on March 8th, to see The Ready Set in concert. I had no idea who the other bands were that were there, but I didn't care... I got to meet Jordan Witzigreuter!

After arriving in Greensboro, NC, and checking into our hotel, my mom and I went to pick up some Happy Hippos (Jordan's favorite treat) before the show.

When we got to the concert (after getting slightly lost and panicking that we wouldn't get there in time for the Meet and Greet), and my mom left. I had to stand in line with about 50 other people that had Meet and Greet tickets. -_- It was freezing, but the people near me were nice and the time went by quickly. Then, it was time to meet HIM! I had been counting the seconds to this moment (since Christmas when I got the ticket) and I had my Hippos. Everything was going to be great. When I got up there, we chatted for a few seconds while he signed some stuff and then it came time to take a picture with him. Dun dun duuuuuunnnn! My camera didn't work! Well, it did work, but he didn't know how to use it, so we stood there for about 2 whole minutes while he tried and tried to take a picture. Finally he got it right, but didn't keep his hand still, so this is the result:

I think it's kinda cute... lol

Anyway, he finally took a normal picture and it was time for him to move on to the rest of the line :(

After Jordan met with everyone in line, he treated us to a little private concert where he sang his new song "Young Forever" acoustic. Part 1:
Part 2:

I stayed inside the club until the concert started (calling my mom every few minutes wondering where she was, because the club was filling up) and took a pic with Jordan's PETA poster (a guy I was in line with wanted to be in the picture too... He's on the far right):

Finally when everyone was packed in so tight no one could breathe, it started. The first band was You, Me, and Everyone We Know. They were ok, but since I was only about a foot away from the stage and the lead singer's pants were very tight, I had a certain male body part of his in my face a lot... Ew. I didn't even bother trying to get pics of that band.

The next band was We Are The In Crowd. They were pretty good, but all I got were pics of the guitarist, because I thought he was cute... lol

After them, The Downtown Fiction played. Let's just say, Cameron Leahy (the lead singer) is both completely insane, and hot... Though you can't really tell in these pics:

Here's just one of his many crazy moments: I was right in the front, so I had his abs in my face the whole time. If I wasn't being crushed by 500 screaming girls trying to touch him, I wouldn't have minded...

When they were done, Allstar Weekend started.

The songs were catchy and they seemed to be the fan favorite so far. Here's 2 videos from the concert of some songs they did (I didn't take these videos, someone else did):

They also sang Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" and the lead singer, Zach Porter, held my hand during the song. :)

Finally, Allstar Weekend finished and next came (drumroll please!) The Ready Set! But, first the audience had to wait during a 20 minute sound check. :( Luckily, the 2 people that had been between me and the stage during the entire show, decided to leave, so I FINALLY got to stand against the stage!!! (And put the purse, that I had been holding the entire time, down). Glancing at my mom in the balcony and giving her an ecstatic thumbs up, I breathed a sigh of relief. Since I was up against the stage, I could breathe! In the crowd (even though I had only been one row back) there was no breathing room and the temperature was about 100 degrees. Since it was so hot, everyone was really thirsty, so the roadies doing the sound check were throwing water bottles out into the crowd. Being right up front, I got one handed to me and not thrown. Noticing where the bottle came from and that it had about one sip taken out of it, I remembered Cameron (from The Downtown Fiction) taking a sip of water and throwing his bottle right to where mine came from. I had Cameron Leahy's water bottle in my grasp! If I wasn't so thirsty, I might have saved it, but since it had been about 6 hours and 100 degrees since I had last had water, I drank it (and shared it with about 5 other girls around me). Maybe that's why I have the flu now... lol

The Sound check finally ended and it was then time for The Ready Set to come out. Everyone started chanting "Jordan! Jordan! Jordan! Ready Set! Ready Set! Ready Set!" and they came on stage! Deafening screams were heard for over a minute from 500 fans (me screaming along with them) and they started. Luckily I knew all of the songs and was able to sing along (I didn't know the other bands songs and felt like I was the only one not singing along). It was great! Jordan was a little wary of people touching him all over (like they obviously wanted to, and had been doing with all of the other bands), and kept just out of reach most of the time. He did hold a couple of hands briefly and high five a few people (me included). I took about 8 videos and 60 pictures of him. The stupid smoke machine kept me from taking more, since I couldn't see him when it kicked on. Here's some of the best pics I took:

And some of the videos (Sorry the sound on them is terrible. My camera's mic sucks):

After The Ready Set was done, people cleared out pretty quickly. I had to go and meet my mom by the door and unfortunately didn't get to meet any of the other bands. When I got home the next day (we stayed in a hotel that night) I immediately looked all of the bands up and since then have been obsessively watching their videos on YouTube. Mostly The Downtown Fiction and Allstar Weekend. Here are some of my favorites from each:

Acoustic Christmas

I went to "Acoustic Christmas" on the 2nd. It is basically I concert where top bands perform their music, but acoustic. The bands were: 3OH!3, We The Kings, The Ready Set, Hot Chelle Rae, The Sick Puppies, and Shontelle. It was awesome! One of the best nights of my life... Here's how the bands were and what they did:

3OH!3 was crazy, as usual. They (and The Ready Set) didn't perform acoustic, cause they'd probably sound terrible... Sean decided, for some reason, to sing "I Believe I Can Fly". Lol, if you've ever heard even one of their songs, you know that it is completely not like them... They did sing some of their usual songs though. "Don't Trust Me", "Double Vision", "Starstrukk", and "My First Kiss". I got a lot of videos and pictures of them.

We The Kings we crazy too... Travis decided to throw his room key into the audience "to see if someone was willing to check every room in the hotel"... Pretty risky. They sounded pretty good, but were acoustic and everyone sounds different acoustic.

The Ready Set was amazing! And Jordan was as hot as ever. (Of course). I really only knew one song (Love Like Woe) when I went, and sadly, when I met Keegan (the guitarist) and Travis (the drummer), I didn't know who they were. I did offer them Twizzlers though, and Travis took one lol... Now, after (obsessively) watching all of The Ready Set's videos on Youtube, I know who all of them are, have all of the songs in my head, and love Jordan even more. After the concert, Jordan signed my ticket, my camera, and my The Ready Set shirt, and hugged me, twice! (BTW, he smells really good! lol) :) :) :) <3 <3 <3

Hot Chelle Rae was pretty good. I still only know one of their songs, "Bleed". There isn't really much to say about them...

I was outside (meeting Hot Chelle Rae, The Sick Puppies, and most of The Ready Set backstage) when Shontelle was singing, so I didn't really see her, but I heard her. She was ok...

The Sick Puppies were good. They are from Australia, so when they talked, it just make me like them even more lol.

Even though I got there 5 hours early, it was about 100 degrees in there, I had to stand in a packed crowd for 6 hours, and I still didn't get next to the stage, I was close enough (about 10 feet away) and it was really great. The fact that I got to hug Jordan just made everything so much better! :)

Second Blog in One Day!

Wow! Two blog posts in one day! Anyway, I started to make a website for my grandmother -_- and I just got annoyed and bored, so I gave up...

I've started writing a Harry Potter fanfiction, because I suddenly got the urge to write one the other day (I know, I'm a nOOb)... It is about a girl who comes to Hogwarts and reveals that she is Harry's long lost cousin from America. Stupid, I know... Then, against the odds, she and Malfoy fall in love, but he has a secret:
*CAUTION: SERIES SPOILER*
he has been ordered by Voldemort to kill Dumbledore.

I know, my fanfic sounds stupid, but I don't care, I need to write it. If any of you readers (I have no readers, but whatever) want to read it, I'll send it to you. I have 13 1/2 pages written so far, but I just have to type it up.

Anyway, I'm at my grandparents' house and I have to go home, so I'm gonna end this :)

First Post in Months!

Wow! It's been a long time since I've posted anything! (I actually forgot I had a blog! LOL) Anyway, I moved in August and turned 18 in October! Woot! I'm an adult now!!! Going to look at a college this weekend.

On another note, I've seen MANY new movies that I liked and a lot that I hated. I'm not going to list them all here, cause no one reads this anyway! :P I did like the movie Inception . It was just my kind of weird! Dreaming inside a dream, inside a dream, inside a dream? Awesome! I just wish Leonardo DiCaprio still looked like he did in Titanic, cause I'd have liked the movie even more! ;) LOL

One movie I CAN'T wait for is Super 8! J.J Abrams made it, so I know it'll be great!!!

I'm making my grandmother a website -_-, so I gtg...

Review of: Dragon Rider

Dragon Rider is a book written by Cornelia Funke (pronounced foonka by the way). The story is set in Europe, and is about a dragon, a brownie, and a dragon rider (duh).

A dragon named Firedrake sets out on a quest to find the mysterious "Rim of Heaven", the last safe place for dragons on earth. Humans are coming to the dragons' valley, and they need to move. So Firedrake, along with Sorrel the brownie search for the Rim of Heaven, picking up a human named Ben along the way.

They face dangerous foes, find friends in unlikely places, and have the adventure of their lives.

CAMP!!!

Well, sorry I haven't blogged in forever! It's not like I have any readers... Anyway, I just went to Doe River Gorge last week and had the best week of my life! It is such a wonderful place to make friends and get closer to God. During the week, we did the "Leap of Faith" (which is just a giant telephone pole that you jump off while in a harness), paintball, mountain climbing, and horseback riding. Today, I applied to work there next summer (for 88 days!) and the application was 10 pages long! I guess they need a lot of information, so they don't hire someone crazy (not that I'm not crazy!!!!!). I desperately hope they accept my application and I can work there next year. I keep saying "work", but technically, they don't pay you, it's more of a volunteer thing and if you want money, you have to raise it at your church or something... While I was there last week, 26 people were saved! That means 26 more people are going to Heaven!!!! Woot! Anyway, I'm gonna go, I'm starving!

Sorry

I know, I haven't posted anything for a while... But since no one even reads this, there is no point. So, I'm pretty much writing this for myself. Yawn!

I guess I'll at least put some pictures on this post (even though I don't know if they'll work or not...)

Within the next few days, I may be adding a new blogger to this page... You may call her Psycho Bunny, but that's it. I'm not telling you her real name, but I'll tell you that she is the best cousin ever, and has a great taste in books and shows...

Avatar

Ok, this is my first post ever, so bear with me, because I know it is really short, and I will post longer things soon...

Well, I went to see the new movie Avatar a few weeks ago and was blown away! First of all, it was visually stunning... I mean, bioluminescent ground, plants, and animals and blue people?! WOW... And the story was touching and, at times, heartbreaking. I won't go into details, because (unlike me) many people don't want their movies spoiled...

Over all, it was one of the most well made films I have ever seen!
